Technically he's not betraying. Job was to lure, with details left unspecified, so if it's his making to them two meet, the job is finished and due to be paid.
I think I like Nezumi logic. There is only one risk, that Redfang will ally with Dagons and Nezumi will be left to pay the bill. Considering lizardfolk attitude, not much of a risk really.
