Imperial Legion

The Northern Empire has the most advanced military equipment in the world of the Afterwar. Yet their technological superiority is really pullback by the conservative high command. The problem in empire high command is that the life span of the ice giant is around 600 years. That's mean that Admirals and generals who chose doctrines learned their craft when black-powder musket and front-loading cannon was the peak of warfare technology. that's a reason why imperial doctrine based on trench warfare. army structure even older.

The legion is the primary unit in strategic scale for empire infantry. Legion is formed from 60 Sotnis(sing: “Sotnia”) each Sotnia is formed from ten ten-men squads. Full ten-man squad include sergeant as commanding officer. Two supporting corporals with power armour, medic and six soldiers. Three basic legionnaires types are laserifles, shieldbearers, and heavy weapons. Imperial regulations say that except for power-armours every single soldier in the squad has to use exactly the same armament and the power-armours has complementary to squad type set of armaments. For example, ten-man squads of laserifle have 8 laser rifles and two power-armours, one with suppressing light machine guns and the second with close-range mortar.
